LOCATION
BMC is located at Yenkapally Village, Moinabad 16 Kms from the city, well connected with 4 lane highway. It is just 10 km from the ORR and 2kms from Swaminarayana Gurukul on the main road going to Vikarabad /Chevella /Tandur.

STAFF
Adequate staff ,who are well experienced ,who were holding highest posts of principals,directors,RMOs  in government sector, after their superannuation, are part of the institute.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSE
BMC is affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada.

MBBS
Admissions/Eligibility
As per the MCI every year BMC accepts 150 students, of which 50% belong to A catogery 35% to B category and 15% to the C Category, based on the results of EAMCET exam conducted by the State Government of AP till 2014.Now by both the governments of TS and AP from 2015.
Duration of course
41/2 yrs of study period followed by 1yr internship in the same institute. One year rural posting has been made mandatory by the govt. from the batch of 2010.
The batch starts from 1st September of every year.

POST GRADUATE COURSES
There are about 25 PG seats allotted by the MCI.The entry is through the PG entrance exam conducted by the state government of AP till 2014 now by both the governments of TS and AP from 2015. As per the MCI the courses offered by the institute are:

BMC is unique in the sense that all the departments have a conference hall of its own. Since 2013 all the

Assures the students and staff of maintenance of discipline throughout the campus

ETHICS COMMITTEE

Approval of the projects done by the faculty and the students for STS ICMR projects is done by this committee which meets twice a year.

GENDER HARASSMENT COMMITTEE

It functions to develop conduct healthy atmosphere in the college and hospital campus with regards to status of women

GUEST LECTURES

Renowned national and international guests are invited to deliver lectures in their own specialty to add to the scientific arena.
Two guest lectures have been organized by the ELSIVERE too.

LIBRARY AND READING ROOM

Central digital library with all the possible books are available for the students and staff.
24 hr reading room named “NIRANTAR” is available students for a peaceful environment for studying.

MEDICAL EDUCATION UNIT

It is run by a team of 10 faculty members who are trained at the Regional training center. There are 6 faculty members who are trained at the NTTC JIPMER.
4 faculty members including the coordinator and the coordinator have undergone training in the revised basic course and an orientation of AT-COM module at Regional training center,to be introduced by MCI shortly.
Under the guidance of the regional center MCI recognized our college to train the faculty for the basic training in medical education.

MENTORSHIP

Students in the first and second MBBS are divided among the faculty and assigned to them for their monitoring.

MUSEUMS

Almost all the departments are having a well crafted museum of their own.

PHARMACO VIGILANCE CELL & ADVERSE DRUG REACTION MONITERING CENTER
It is well established at Bhaskar General Hospital with running vigiflow access and attached Drug Information Center.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Under the guidance of a physical director various outdoor and indoor facilities are available.The institute also provides a gymnasium for the students and  the staff.

RESEARCH UNIT & COMMITTEE

Various research activities involving students are taking place.There have been more than 15 ICMR STS
projects which have been approved and completed.
Various other research projects taken up by the faculty are also in progress.

RHC

It is located in Peddamagalaram village.It covers a population of 34491 over 20 villages having 5 subcenters.

• Monthly speciality clinics camps are conducted.
• Immunization schedules are followed as per the National immunization schedules.
• School children are taken care under various school health programmes.
• Weekly health education programmes undertake door to door surveys for communicable and noncommunicable diseases
• All the National health programmes are implemented here.

It caters for the training of the students and interns posted in the department of community medicine.

SELF DEFENSE CLASSES FOR GIRLS

The first year medical and dental girl students are given free of cost compulsory training on self defense for one hour weekly by an expert during the college hours. It is one of its own kinds in the whole country.

SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY CENTER

A monthly gathering is made where science and spirituality is discussed at length by the faculty.

SKILLS LAB

A moderately equipped skills lab in the Institute trains the students, interns and nurses in various medical,surgical skills,BLS,trauma care and holistic care

It is located in the city at Langer Houze.It caters for tge needs of a 19785 population covering 6 localities
A medical officer is available at this center from 9am to 4pm every day.

• Monthly speciality clinics camps are conducted.
• Immunization schedules are followed as per the National immunization schedules on Wednesdays.

• Regular programmes like PULSE POLIO days are observed

• Gratitude day is celebrated by the outgoing batch of interns who pay homage to the faculty.

• A gold medal from the state medical council is given to the best outgoing student from the interns on a day when they are appraised of the ethics.

CASUALTY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES:
Location: - Ground floor, of BGH, easily accessible from the main gate entrance located on the main road.

		Anyone with urgent medical problem can seek consultation/treatment in the Emergency. These services are available 24 hour a day, throughout the year. Casualty Medical officer and resident Doctors are available 24 hrs all days. Duty Doctors are available round the clock in all specialties. There are 25 beds in the Casualty including critical care beds. Emergency Cases are attended promptly. If Doctors decide that you need urgent medical intervention, you will be registered at the Emergency registration counter, free of charge and proper medical care will be provided promptly.

• Casualty has dedicated team of Senior Residents from major specialties and Junior Residents, Nurses, Paramedics and Hospital attendants etc. to provide urgent medical services. The treating doctors will call any specialist, who is available for urgent consultation as and when required.
• We endeavor to provide medical care (incl. Investigation & treatment) at the earliest possible time.
• In serious cases treatment/management gets priority over paper work like Registration/Medico-Legal requirements.
• The Emergency is fully equipped with all modern equipment like
• ventilators,
• pulse oximeters,
• defibrillators,
• multi channel monitors,
• nebulisers,
• central O2 and suction supply etc.
• All urgent investigations like Hemogram, Blood Biochemistry, Urine toxicology, Cardiac Biomarker, Blood Gas Analysis, ECG, USG, X-ray, C.T. Scan, etc. are available for casualty patients round the clock.
• Emergency has fully equipped Operation Theatre for any urgent surgery.
• Emergency operation theatre is maintained on a regular basis to ensure that it is usable all times.
• All medicines and surgical items available in Emergency are provided free of cost.
• Facilities like patient trolleys are available at the entrance of Emergency.

AMBULANCE SERVICES

There are 2 ambulance available at the hospital.

OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENTS:

• Every outpatient seeking treatment at the hospital is registered prior to the consultation.
• Timings: 9AM till the last patient is seen.
• A case sheet is generated for recording history, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment being provided.
• For every new patient a Unique MRD number will be generated. If you have been registered previously, kindly quote your Medical Record Number, while taking an appointment.
• In case, you are a non-appointment / walk-in patient, you are requested to wait to see the doctor.
• Appointment patients will be given a preference. Only emergency walk-in can be seen out of turn Payments for all specialties can be made at the OP Billing Counter.
• Special clinics like Cardiology and endocrinology is on Thursdays and neurology clinic is on Tuesdays

• Special Cardiology clinics is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with echocardiography facility for patients
• A neurology clinic on Tuesday along with the electrophysiology lab draws patients from far end to attend these clinics along with the neurosurgeon’s services too.
• A Nephrology clinic on Wednesday and available dialysis unit takes care of the renal patients
• Urology clinic on Wednesday with the facilities of cystoscopy makes this institute special.

A licensed blood bank is available in the hospital to cater to the requirements of the patients
All blood is tested for HIV, HBV and HCV, VDRL, In addition.
It is well equipped for regular and components with preserving facilities in -40ºC refrigerators .It has plasma extractor, thawing bath, platelet incubator and agitator along with laminar air flow and bucket equalizer.

OPERATION THERATRES

All the OTs have Boyle’s apparatus,anaesthetic stations,defibrillator,multichannel monitors,ventilators.

• Patients admitted in General Ward of BGH are given free treatment. Admission entitles them for free doctors consultations, certain basic investigations
• Private ward patients are charged Rs 500/day and additionally for specific investigations, procedures, operations etc.
• All in-patients receive treatment by team of Resident Doctors and Nurses, available round the clock, under the supervision and guidance of Faculty Members of BGH.
• Hospital Attendants are available in different wards to help in patient care and related activities.
• All the wards are fully equipped.
• Indoor services have, portable X-ray machines,ECG  services - (ground  floor of OPD block), Generator back up, emergency lights, internal telephone, chairs for attendants etc.
• Waste disposal is done as per the established rules (Biomedical waste management and handling rules, 1998) and utmost care is taken to keep the premises neat and clean.
• Every inpatient is provided with two attendant passes.Visitors are allowed only during notified visiting hours i.e. 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Special Investigations like USG, CT, MRI etc. are changed as per the rates approved by Government and revised from time to time.
• Bed linen is changed at the time of admission, thereafter on every alternate day and also whenever required. 
• Food is served free of cost. Also, Tea is provided in the morning.
•  Short Admissions requiring stay for less than 24 hours are done for minor

NSS ACTIVITIES

• To keep the campus clean SWACH BHARAT initiative is taken and all the staff and the medical students of 5th semester participate in this whole heartedly

GENERAL INFORMATION

Medico legal cases:
On admission of a medico legal case, the hospital has to mandatorily honor the rules of the Indian Govt and informs the local police authorities.
Death Certificate:
If a patient expires in the hospital, a death certificate is issued to the family by the hospital to carry the body. The hospital sends the Death registration form & Medical Certificate of cause of death to the gram panchayat. The family has to collect the final Death Certificate from the gram panchayat.
Birth certificate
Parents of the newborn will be issued birth certificates from the hospital as soon as they fill up the Birth report form for registration. This is made possible through the networking of the hospitals with the gram panchayat The beneficiaries will have to pay a service charge of Rs.15 for the certificate.

Silence:
Silence is essential in a hospital. Even minor noises can disturb people who are not feeling well. Visitors are requested to speak softly and avoid unnecessary noise. Attendants are advised to keep down the volume on their television sets. Patient’s relatives are advised not to crowd the area outside the patient rooms. Hospital staff is under instruction to take necessary steps to prevent noise and crowding.
Parking:
Please ensure that vehicles are not parked in” No parking area” and they do not hinder emergency cases from immediate and quick access to the emergency department.
