Continuous Professional Development (CPD) - "Genetic Testing in Clinical Practice" – 15th May 2024

A Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Program was conducted on "Genetic Testing in Clinical Practice" on 15th May, 2024.

It was organized in collaboration with the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad. The esteemed guest faculty from CDFD provided insights on the recent advancements in diagnostic technology in the field of Genetics.

The highlights of the program were interactive sessions on Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, Next Generation Sequencing and Mission Program in Pediatric Rare Genetic Disorders.

The talks emphasized the need for considering genetic perspectives in clinical practice for better patient outcomes.

It was attended by nearly 150 participants, both faculty and postgraduate students from 20 Medical Colleges from the state of Telangana.

Department of Physiology:

• An exhibition was organized displaying posters on the Life and Times of Arthur Clifton Guyton on the occasion of his birth centenary on 07^th September, 2019 for the delegates of CME Programme held on that day and also for the undergraduate students. (MBBS – 2019 Batch)
• Organized a guest lecture by Dr. Ashwin Dalal, Head, Diagnostics Division, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad on “Medical Genetics in Clinical Practice and Personalized Medicine” on 27 November, 2019.    

Department of ENT:

• Conducted DEAF DAY CME on 5 -10-2019 at MEU, Bhaskar Medical College, Staff and postgraduates participated and gave presentations on Deafness and its management.
