Anti-Ragging Day and Week, a crucial observance that underscores our commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment within our educational institution. Ragging, a practice that once may have been viewed lightly, has now rightfully evolved into an unacceptable and reprehensible act.
In the context of medical colleges, preventing ragging is not only a moral imperative but a critical step towards nurturing future healthcare professionals who embody compassion, ethics, and empathy. To ensure a ragging-free environment, we must adopt a multi-faceted approach that encompasses education, awareness, and robust enforcement.
Strategies to Reduce Ragging:
1. Sensitization Programs:
2. Mentorship Programs:
3. Establishing Clear Policies:
4. Anonymous Reporting Mechanisms:
5. Strengthening Counseling Services:
6. Collaborative Initiatives:

Shakespeare’s plays has good medical relevance s, one of the plays “Macbeth” was chosen for this context which highlights the mental illness seen in the characters.Mental illnesses that echo throughout the play are fairly obvious, Macbeth was a military man who suffered from post traumatic stress disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and schizophrenia .Lady Macbeth also suffered from similar mental health issues, with some specialists speculating that she suffered from bipolar disorder, post partum depression or borderline personality disorder. In today’s day and age with the changing lifestyles and the fast paced environment, it’s no shock that mental illnesses are at an all time high. With this play light was shed on the illnesses that some of the characters suffered from while simultaneously bring awareness on diseases that are still so under diagnosed and overlooked.
